Wind for sale
Art & Culture
In 2017, the residents of the small village of Anse-Bleue in the Acadian Peninsula of northern New Brunswick learned through a flyer received in their mailboxes that their village would soon host a wind farm. A financial boon for some, a scam for others, the situation quickly escalated into a social, environmental, and political conflict. But why?
Written by Matthieu Girard, Vent à vendre presents a developing documentary theatre production that explores the wind energy industry in the Baie-des-Chaleurs. Two staged readings will shed light on the issues surrounding this hot topic, from New Brunswick to Gaspésie.
