Indulge in a bit of classy fine dining at any of Restigouche’s renowned restaurants, eateries and pubs, where you’ll uncover a variety of incredible culinary delights that are sure to keep you nice and toasty on a snowy evening.
At Smoke on the Water Smokehouse, you'll find a diverse menu inspired by the greatest examples of smoked meat goodness from all over the world. They often host live music and seasonal specialities, too!
Alternatively, head over to the Pronto Bistro Italiano for a dining experience so authentic, you’ll start to believe you’ve been transported to the heart of Venice. The flavours of their exquisite Italian dishes are sure to warm your spirits and please your palette. Buon appetito!

From ice fishing to mountain hiking, and of course our famous snowmobiling trails, Restigouche is a dream come true for those who see the cold as an invitation.
The snowy slopes of Sugarloaf Mountain are home to all kinds of winter activities to enjoy either by yourself or with the whole family! Many of these activities continue each year due to the diligent year-round efforts of Les Montagnards, a local group of outdoor enthusiasts who turn their passion for winter into action!
You’ll find plenty to do at Sugarloaf Park all winter long thanks to them, including group hiking, seasonal and holiday events, outdoor ice skating, tube and sled sliding, alpine skiing, and fat biking. For a more extreme adventure, there’s also the Sugarloaf Snowpark, featuring snow groomed to perfection and an exciting assortment of slopes, hills and challenging obstacles to overcome!
Your mountaineering adventures aren’t over yet, because in the heart of Restigouche, the majesty of the snowy Appalachian wilderness is on full display at Mount Carleton Provincial Park. You’ll have access to year-round camping and groomed trails for your snowmobiling or snowshoeing adventures as you share the park with dozens of diverse animal species that call these mountains their home.
For even more adventures, Charlo and the Aventuriers de Charlo are ready to provide an exciting winter excursion in their neck of the woods. This corner of Restigouche hosts some excellent snowshoeing trails, as well as the chance to walk up to the Charlo Dam in all its frozen splendor! They also offer cross-country trails and lessons as well as competitive and recreational events all season!
Campbellton Snofest
If you visit Restigouche at just the right time, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the region’s premier winter festival: the Campbellton Snofest! Taking place between February 13 and February 17, 2025, this yearly festival is a week-long celebration of all things winter, and it’s absolutely filled with local charm, community spirit, and lots of fun for the whole family!
You’re invited to Snofest Village, the ultimate destination for winter lovers of all ages. Each and every year, this event proves to be a treasure trove for those seeking unconventional and family-friendly winter activities.
During Snofest, you’ll get to take part in several different winter games and activities, including outdoor bowling, mini-putt, and snowman building! There’s also plenty of live music and concerts to enjoy all week long, lots of exciting prizes to win, sleigh rides and face painting for the kids, and of course, a dazzling winter fireworks display! Snofest truly is the greatest way to celebrate the season in Restigouche!
